Macau’s foreign exchange reserves reached 167.0 billion patacas (US$20.71 billion) at the end of July 2019, the Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) reported.
The AMCM also reported that this was an increase of 0.3% compared to June rectified data of 166.4 billion patacas (US$20.68 billion).
At the end of July, foreign exchange reserves accounted for around 10 times the currency in circulation or 80.4% of the M2 aggregate denominated in patacas at the end of June.
AMCM also reported that the pataca rose in value against the currencies of Macau’s main trading partners, with increases in the effective exchange rate, weighted by its trade quotas.
